A useful resource I discovered for coping with depersonalization/derealization

Hey everyone,

I recently stumbled upon something that’s been really helpful for me in dealing with DPDR. It’s a chatbot on Telegram that offers advice and tips specifically for our condition.

The bot lets you ask a few questions daily at no cost. Its responses are surprisingly helpful, giving practical suggestions for managing symptoms. There’s a paid version available too, but I’ve found the free one to be quite beneficial on its own.

I’ve been using it when I’m feeling overwhelmed or confused about my experiences. It’s particularly good at explaining why we might be going through this and suggesting ways to cope.

Has anyone else tried using technology or AI to help with their DPDR? I’d be curious to hear about your experiences or if you’ve found other helpful resources like this.

Thanks for sharing that resource, sophialee92. It’s interesting to see how technology is being applied to help with DPDR. While I haven’t used AI specifically, I’ve found cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to be incredibly helpful in managing my symptoms. Working with a therapist trained in CBT has given me practical tools to challenge distorted thoughts and reduce anxiety.

Another approach that’s been beneficial for me is establishing a solid routine. Structuring my day with regular sleep patterns, meal times, and activities helps create a sense of normalcy and stability. This has been particularly useful when I’m feeling disconnected or ‘unreal’.

Have you noticed any particular types of advice or suggestions from the chatbot that you’ve found most helpful? It would be interesting to hear more about your experience with it and how it compares to traditional therapy or self-help methods.

I appreciate you sharing this resource, sophialee92. While I haven’t personally used AI for managing DPDR, I’ve found that keeping a symptom journal has been incredibly helpful. It allows me to track patterns and triggers, which has been invaluable for my recovery process.

One thing that’s worked wonders for me is practicing mindfulness meditation. It took some time to get used to, but it’s really helped ground me when I’m feeling disconnected. I also found that regular exercise, particularly outdoor activities like hiking, has made a significant difference in my overall well-being.

Have you tried any other coping strategies alongside the chatbot? I’d be interested to hear if you’ve noticed any synergistic effects when combining different approaches. It’s always encouraging to see new tools becoming available for those of us dealing with DPDR.

thx for sharing! i havent tried AI yet but im intrigued. my go-to has been grounding techniques like the 5-4-3-2-1 method. it helps me reconnect when im feeling floaty. also, talking to friends who get it is huge. have u noticed any downsides to using the chatbot? just curious bout potential limitations
