Account suspended right after Mailgun registration - anyone else experienced this?

Just wanted to share what happened to me and see if others went through something similar. I created a new Mailgun account yesterday for sending emails from my website. Right after I finished the signup process, my account got locked temporarily. I contacted their support team hoping to get it resolved quickly, but they ended up making it a permanent ban instead. The most frustrating part is that their support person refused to tell me what triggered the suspension in the first place. I have used many different online services before but this has to be one of the most disappointing experiences ever. Did anyone here face the same issue with Mailgun? Any ideas what might cause them to block accounts so fast?

This brings back memories from setting up email services for my startup two years ago. Mailgun suspended my account within hours too, though mine was temporary at first. I learned they have really strict onboarding filters that check everything - domain age, payment method origin, you name it. I was using a brand new domain that was only registered a week before, which apparently raised red flags. The whole thing taught me to always have backup email providers ready. I switched to Amazon SES after that and never looked back. Their verification process is way more transparent and you actually know what you need to meet. The lack of transparency from Mailgun support you mentioned is pretty typical - they’d rather protect their detection methods than help legitimate users figure out what went wrong.

ugh, so annoying but not surprising anymore. Mailgun pulled the same bs on me last year - instant suspension, then made it permanent when I asked why. Their algorithm must flag new accounts super aggressively. Ended up switching to Postmark and it’s been solid ever since.

Same thing happened to my colleague six months ago with Mailgun. We figured out their automated systems are crazy sensitive to registration patterns. Using VPNs, shared hosting IPs, or certain domain registrars can trigger immediate flags. That permanent ban after you contacted support? Their fraud detection labeled your account high-risk, which makes appeals basically impossible. We switched to SendGrid with the exact same setup - zero issues. Their support actually tells you what went wrong when something gets flagged. Honestly, Mailgun’s loss. Their automated systems are way too aggressive for legit users.
