I recently completed a migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 and transferred all Google Drive documents to a specific OneDrive folder. However, some users are still accessing Google Drive, which disrupts our process. I’ve already disabled access and now receive calls and texts about it. What alternative methods can I use to effectively stop the use of Google Drive and ensure everyone fully transitions to the new system?
After completing a similar migration, I found that clearing old references on employee devices was essential in getting full adoption of OneDrive. We had cases where residual Google Drive shortcuts in browsers and on desktops still directed users to the old platform. Our solution involved not only disabling Google Drive access via our admin tools but also updating all internal documentation and file shortcuts to reflect the new OneDrive paths. Additionally, routine audits on employee setups helped ensure no old device settings were left active, which in turn minimized further disruption.
