Anyone else struggling with multiple AI API keys in Kafka-based automation workflows?

I’ve been building a Kafka workflow that needs to call Claude for analysis, GPT-4 for summarization, and Stable Diffusion for image generation. The API key management is becoming a nightmare - different credentials, rate limits, and error handling for each service. Right now I’m using separate connector services for each AI provider, but maintaining these integrations feels unsustainable as we scale. We built a custom credential vault microservice that rotates and injects keys at runtime. try aws secrets manager? we store all keys there and pull em thru lambda middlewares. works ok but costs add up. still better than hardcoding tho

We went serverless route – Azure Functions with Key Vault integration. Each AI service gets its own function triggered by Kafka topics. Managed identities handle authentication automatically. Works well until you hit cold starts during traffic spikes. Probably cheaper alternatives exist.
