A few years ago, I was in the same boat. Started with Khan Academy’s computer science section - great for learning algorithms and programming basics without any background knowledge. After getting comfortable there, I moved to the ‘Machine Learning for Everyone’ course from University of London on Coursera. It’s made for people without tech experience. Took my time with it - spent about three months just understanding the fundamentals before touching any code. Made the mistake early on of jumping straight into Python tutorials without knowing the concepts first. Big mistake. 3Blue1Brown on YouTube was a game changer for visualizing the complex stuff.
