Can I restore a missing frame in Figma after accidental deletion?

Hi everyone! I’m having a major issue with my Figma project. Yesterday I was working on a mobile app design and accidentally removed an entire artboard that had all my main screens. I tried looking through the version history but I’m not sure how to get it back. Does anyone know if there’s a way to undo this kind of mistake? I’m really frustrated because I spent hours on that design. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

oh man, that sux! try looking for auto-saves - figma does that often. also, check if your recent files has it, sometimes the old version is there as a new file. if not, refreshing might help! good luck, hope u find it!

First check your deleted items - frames sometimes just get moved there instead of actually disappearing. Look in the layers panel for a “Deleted” section at the bottom. If nothing’s there, spam Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac) to undo your way back. I’ve saved entire artboards this way even after closing the file. You can also check if you had multiple browser tabs open - older versions might still be cached in another tab. But honestly, version history is your best shot if these quick fixes don’t work.

I faced a similar issue before. What worked for me was using the ‘Show version history’ feature in Figma. You can access it from the file menu. This allows you to browse through previous versions of your project, making it easier to locate the missing frame. Once you find the right version, you can either restore the entire file or just copy the specific elements you need into your current layout. It’s also a good idea to routinely duplicate key components during the design process to avoid similar mishaps.
