For rendering inconsistencies, I moved away from strict pixel matching. Instead, I use a combination of element visibility checks and layout measurements. On iOS, for example, a button might render at slightly different coordinates than Safari, but functionally it’s fine. On the other hand, if content doesn’t render at all in a WebView, that’s a real problem.
You could also inject a small script that reports element properties back—dimensions, positions, visibility state. That gives you structured data to compare instead of relying purely on visual diffing. It’s more reliable across render modes.
