Hey everyone, I just found out some news about that famous captain builds guide we all use. The original creator won’t be updating it anymore. They said they’ve lost interest in the game and haven’t played in a long time. But don’t worry! The gameplay help team is taking over. They’ll keep the guide up to date for us. It’s kinda sad to see the original person go, but at least the resource will live on. What do you all think about this change? Will it affect how you use the guide?
thats a bummer, but tbh i stopped using that guide a while ago. found some better ones on youtube that are more up-to-date. maybe the new team will make it better tho? idk, we’ll see how it goes. kinda wish theyd just let the community take over instead of the official team
I’ve relied on that guide for years, so this news is disappointing but not entirely surprising.
The game’s meta evolves so quickly that maintaining a comprehensive resource like that must be exhausting.
While I appreciate the gameplay team stepping in, I’m a bit skeptical about how frequently they’ll actually update it given their other responsibilities.
It might be worth exploring some community-driven alternatives or smaller, more focused guides that passionate players can keep current.
In the meantime, I’ll probably cross-reference the official guide with forums and streams to ensure I’m not missing any emerging strategies.
As someone who’s used that guide extensively, I’m disappointed but not shocked. Maintaining such a comprehensive resource is a massive undertaking, especially with the game’s frequent updates.
While it’s reassuring that the gameplay team is taking over, I’m concerned about potential biases or limitations in their approach. They might focus on ‘approved’ builds rather than innovative strategies the community discovers.
I’ll likely continue referencing the guide, but I’ll be more critical and supplement it with community discussions and personal experimentation. This change could actually encourage more diverse playstyles as people rely less on a single source. Perhaps we’ll see a rise in specialized guides for specific captain roles or playstyles.
