I was working on a design and used Alt+click to duplicate some objects multiple times. After doing this, something weird happened to all my text layers. They all changed to have no fill color and appear transparent or outlined.
The problem is that even when I start a completely new Figma file and add fresh text, it still has the same issue with no fill. I can modify the font family and change between Regular, Bold, and other weights, but the text always stays without any fill color.
I tried using Ctrl+Z to undo everything back to the beginning, but this transparent text style keeps happening. It seems like some kind of global setting got changed. How can I restore normal black text fill in Figma?
It appears you are facing a frustrating issue with text layers in Figma. This problem can arise when the application retains certain formatting settings after duplicating objects. To resolve it, select the affected text layer and navigate to the properties panel to reset the fill color to your desired shade, typically black. If the issue persists, create a new text layer from scratch and set the fill color before entering text. Additionally, consider restarting Figma or clearing the cache if problems continue.
It seems you’ve encountered a common issue with Figma where duplicating objects affects the text layer’s fill settings. When you duplicate layers repeatedly, the software can sometimes retain the last-used formatting, which may lead to unexpected results like text appearing without a fill. To resolve this, create a new text layer and manually configure the fill color to black in the properties panel. Doing this will help set a new default for future text layers. Additionally, ensure you check the fill properties before typing to prevent this issue from recurring.
I completely understand your frustration with this issue in Figma. It often happens that the application retains the last-used fill settings after duplicating layers, which can lead to text appearing transparent. To fix this, select the text tool, ensure the fill color is set to solid black in the properties panel before you start typing, and create a new text layer. Once this is done, Figma should remember the new settings for future text layers. If the problem continues, logging out and back in can sometimes resolve persistent glitches.
i had that too! try clicking the text tool and look at the fill settings on the right. sometimes figma defaults to transparent and stays stuck. just set it back to solid black and it should be good!
