Getting started with browser automation templates—do they actually save time?

I’m new to building browser automations and I keep seeing people mention ready-made templates. The pitch is “use a template, customize it, deploy in minutes.” But I’m wondering if that’s realistic or just marketing fluff.

So I’m asking the honest question: if I grab a pre-built template for, say, web scraping or form filling, how much customization are we actually talking about? Is it a matter of tweaking a few settings, or am I essentially rebuilding it for my specific site anyway?

I’m trying to figure out if starting with a template saves me real time compared to building from scratch. I imagine it depends on how close the template matches what I actually need, but what’s the break-even point? When is a template actually worth using?

Has anyone tried this, and did it actually move the needle for your project timeline?
