I’ve realized that the events for Pride Month are missing from my Google Calendar. Before, these events would automatically appear along with other awareness months and holidays. Now, when I check June, I can’t find any events related to Pride on the calendar.
Has anyone else noticed this? I’m curious if it’s a glitch or if Google has changed their policy on which events are shown by default. These entries used to help me keep track of important dates all year long.
Is there a way to add these events back manually or to adjust settings to enable them? I looked through my calendar preferences but couldn’t find any option to turn on awareness month reminders.
same issue here! google quietly removed a bunch of these observance events recently. go to calendar settings > add calendar > browse interesting calendars and look for community-made ones. there’s usually good pride event feeds that update automatically. way more reliable than google’s default stuff.
This happened to me too last year. Different observance events kept disappearing. Google changes these automated entries more often than you’d think.
I’d suggest creating a custom calendar subscription. Just search for “Pride Month calendar ICS” or “LGBTQ+ awareness dates calendar”. There are many organizations that keep updated feeds you can subscribe to.
You can also manually add the dates you care about. It only takes about 10 minutes to set up the main Pride events as yearly recurring entries.
I stopped relying on Google’s default holiday calendar after missing several important observances. Now I use a mix of subscribed calendars and manual entries. It works way better than hoping Google keeps everything relevant.
