Been thinking about this lately. We have several people building automations on our team, and there’s definitely duplication happening. Someone’s automating data extraction from one site, someone else is doing basically the same thing for a different site. We’re not sharing code or approaches.
I heard about marketplace templates for automation workflows, where people can publish their solutions and others can use or customize them. In theory, this sounds perfect for avoiding reinvention. But I’m skeptical. Most marketplace stuff I’ve seen is either abandoned, poorly documented, or doesn’t actually match your specific needs.
Has anyone actually used marketplace templates to jump-start a project? And when you customize one for your own use case, does it stay maintainable, or does it turn into a frankenstein of modifications?
