I am looking for a way to develop an inline Telegram bot that uses a short, unique name. When I set it up with Botfather, it insists on appending the word ‘bot’ to the end of the name, which limits the branding options. I would appreciate any advice or creative solutions that could help me bypass this naming rule while keeping the desired concise format.
Based on my experience, Telegram’s naming convention appears to be a hard limit and not something that can easily be circumvented. The system enforces the ‘bot’ suffix for inline bots as part of its design, meaning even if you try alternate creative branding, the username must comply. In practice, most developers work within this framework by focusing on strong branding in their bot’s functionality rather than solely on the name. The workaround is to emphasize your bot’s unique inline capabilities to offset the generic naming constraint.
hey, i think you can’t really skip the ‘bot’ part. telegram hardcodes it, so imho its best to build your brand around your bot’s unique features rather than the name. might be a bummer but workarounds are really limited
