Hey everyone,
I’m having a problem with my Hubspot CRM. The deal amounts keep changing without my knowledge. For example, I had some deals that were $200K, but now they’re showing as $50K or even $20K. This is causing issues with my forecast reports.
It’s frustrating because I can’t explain why my forecast dropped or which deals changed. I’m thinking of creating a system to take snapshots of the CRM values regularly. This way, I can keep track of pipeline movements and see what changed and when.
Has anyone else run into this problem? I’m wondering if there’s a better solution or if others have found a good way to handle this. Any advice or experiences would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!
hey amelial, that sounds super frustrating! i’ve dealt with similar issues before. have u tried using hubspot’s property history feature? it shows changes to deal properties over time. might help u track those sneaky value shifts without building a whole new system. worth checkin out if u havent already!
I’ve been in your shoes, and it’s definitely a headache. One solution that worked wonders for me was setting up automated reports in Hubspot. You can schedule daily or weekly reports that capture deal values, sending them straight to your inbox. This way, you’ve got a regular snapshot without manual effort.
Another trick I found useful was creating a custom field for ‘Original Deal Value’ that doesn’t change. When a deal amount is modified, you can quickly compare it to the original value to spot discrepancies.
If you’re tech-savvy, Hubspot’s API might be worth exploring. You could potentially build a simple integration that logs deal value changes to a separate database, giving you a complete historical record.
Remember, communication with your team is key. Make sure everyone understands the importance of documenting reasons for deal value changes in the CRM notes. It’s saved me countless headaches in pipeline reviews.
