Hey everyone! I’ve been working with n8n for about 8 weeks now and want to create an automated assistant that helps customers find products they might like. The project seems to be going well so far and I haven’t run into any major roadblocks with the recommendation system itself. However, I’m still quite a ways from having something ready to go live. Has anyone here used n8n for similar projects? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, both good and bad. What challenges did you face and how did the platform perform for you?
n8n’s solid for AI projects, though the docs aren’t always there when you need them. ChatGPT and other API integrations are pretty easy to set up. The tricky part? Async operations get messy fast when you’re running multiple AI calls at once. And def keep an eye on rate limits - found that out the hard way!
Been using n8n for AI automation for 6 months - it’s solid. Best part is chaining different AI services through APIs. I’ve hooked up OpenAI, Pinecone, and custom ML models without headaches. The visual workflow builder beats traditional coding for debugging. You’ll hit performance walls when scaling though. Had to heavily optimize once I crossed a few hundred requests daily. Error handling gets messy since AI services throw curveballs with responses. Build fallback logic from day one - don’t make my mistake of bolting it on later.
