Integrating multiple AI models in node.js without the API key chaos?

I’m building a Node.js service that needs GPT-4 for text analysis and Claude for summarization, but managing separate API keys is becoming a nightmare. Last week I accidentally pushed a key to GitHub and had to rotate everything manually. Does anyone have a clean solution for centralizing AI service authentication? Bonus points if it handles rate limiting across different providers.

try using dotenv for key management? store all keys in .env file and reference them. still gotta handle diff api formats tho. maybe some kinda adapter layer?
