Is it possible to use Gmail's icon for external email addresses?

Hey everyone! I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to make my non-Gmail email address show up with the Gmail icon. You know, like when you see [email protected] but it has that familiar Gmail look.

I’ve heard some people say you need to pay for this feature. But I’m wondering if anyone knows a free method to do it. Has anyone successfully added the Gmail icon to their external email address? If so, how did you do it?

I’m not super tech-savvy, so any simple explanations would be really helpful. Thanks in advance for any tips or advice you can share!

nah man, u cant just slap the gmail icon on any old email adress. thats google’s thing, ya know? theyd probably get mad if u tried to use it without permission. maybe try makin ur own cool icon for ur email instead? could be fun and unique!

I’ve actually looked into this before for my own business emails. Unfortunately, using Gmail’s icon for non-Gmail addresses isn’t possible or allowed. Google’s pretty strict about their branding.

But here’s what I did instead: I created a simple, eye-catching icon for my business email using Canva (it’s free and user-friendly). Then I set it up as my profile picture in my email client. It shows up next to my emails in most modern email programs, giving a similar effect to what you’re after.

It took a bit of fiddling, but it was worth it. Now my emails stand out and look more professional. Plus, it’s a great way to reinforce your brand. If you’re not design-savvy, you could always hire someone on Fiverr to make a simple icon for you. Hope this helps!

I’m afraid using Gmail’s icon for non-Gmail addresses isn’t possible, nor would it be legal. Google’s branding is protected intellectual property. Instead, consider creating a custom icon that represents your brand or website. This can be more impactful for your business identity. If you’re using a paid email service, they might offer options to customize your email appearance. Alternatively, focus on crafting a professional email signature with your logo. This approach is both legal and beneficial for your brand recognition.
