I’m tasked with developing a modular desktop application using JavaScript despite widespread negative opinions. Is the criticism of JavaScript truly valid, or is it merely an over-hyped meme?
JavaScript has certainly earned its share of detractors, but my experience tells me that much of the dislike comes from misunderstandings rather than inherent flaws in the language. Its loosely typed nature and unique behavior can lead to surprising outcomes, which some developers might find challenging compared to statically typed languages. Over time, though, I’ve noticed that with proper tooling and careful coding practices, many of these issues can be managed effectively. The evolution of JavaScript, with new features and frameworks, has greatly improved its utility in both desktop and web applications.
