Looking for privacy-focused alternatives to mainstream appointment booking and calendar apps?

Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to move away from big tech companies and their services, but I’m really stuck when it comes to appointment scheduling tools. Right now I use mainstream booking platforms that connect perfectly with video meeting software and my calendar app, but I’m not happy with their privacy practices.

For my business, I meet with customers through video calls and I need something that can automatically generate meeting links, send them to both me and my clients via email, and add everything to my calendar when someone books a time slot. The current setup works great but I want something more privacy-friendly.

Has anyone found good alternatives that still work with popular video calling apps? I’m willing to switch to a completely different calendar system if needed, as long as it has decent integration features. Any suggestions would be awesome!

I switched to Cal.com eight months ago and it’s been great for my consulting business. Being open source means better privacy, and you can use their hosted version or self-host for complete control. Video integration works well - I use it with Jitsi Meet (also privacy-focused), but it supports Zoom and others too. Email notifications and calendar sync work reliably. The interface isn’t as polished as mainstream options, but it covers all your core needs. Took me a weekend to set up properly, then it runs itself. Check their docs to see if it fits your workflow.
