I just signed up for Mailgun today to manage emails for my blog. Right after completing my account setup, it was disabled temporarily. After reaching out to their support, it was permanently disabled. What’s worse is that the support agent didn’t explain why my account was flagged.
This has been the most disappointing experience I’ve had with any software service. Has anyone else faced issues with Mailgun like this? I’m trying to understand why they disabled my account so rapidly.
Update: I used GDPR regulations to request the deletion of my data as I couldn’t remove my account while it was disabled. They responded fast and actually deleted my information. After that, I registered again using the same details, and this time everything went smoothly.
I have two possible theories for my initial ban. One might be that my adblocker blocked their tracking mechanisms. Another possibility is their guide instructs you to create an API token for a sandbox account immediately, which feels off. Last time I followed that step, my account was disabled soon after.
