Hello everyone, I’ve just learned about the latest age verification requirements for Spotify users in the UK. It seems we’ll need to authenticate our ages through a check to access specific content.
To break it down: Spotify is now obligated to verify that users are old enough according to their location’s age limits. If you fail to verify your age, your account could be suspended and ultimately erased.
What’s concerning is that if they suspect you are underage based on their evaluation, they will send you an email allowing you to reactivate your account within 90 days. However, you must complete the ID verification process within 7 days after reactivation. If you fail to do that or can’t establish your age, your account will be permanently removed.
Is anyone else experiencing this? It feels like a pretty extreme approach. I’m worried about losing my playlists and favorite songs if my account gets deleted.
