Orchestrating multiple ai agents for browser automation—is it actually worth the complexity?

I’ve been reading about using autonomous AI agents—like an AI CEO, an Analyst, a QA agent—to coordinate multi-step browser automation tasks. The pitch is that different agents handle different parts: one agent coordinates the workflow, another extracts and analyzes data, another validates results.

On paper, it sounds elegant. In practice, I’m wondering if you’re adding complexity that doesn’t pay off.

My concern is latency and cost. If every step requires an AI agent to think and decide, doesn’t that add delays? Plus, you’re making multiple API calls instead of one workflow. And coordinating between agents—how do they know what the other one did? Do they maintain state?

I’ve got a workflow that scrapes product data from a site, extracts prices and descriptions, checks if prices match our database, and flags mismatches. Currently, it’s a linear flow in a single workflow.
