I’ve been looking at AI Copilot Workflow Generation and the pitch is compelling—describe your automation goal in plain English, and it spits out a ready-to-run workflow. But I’m skeptical about the ROI part.
Here’s my situation: we need to calculate automation ROI for different departments, and rebuilding a custom calculator in Excel every time a workflow changes is killing us. The idea of generating a workflow from plain text that actually tracks ROI metrics sounds amazing, but I’m wondering how much of it actually works without significant rework.
When you go from a text description like “calculate the ROI of switching this manual process to automation” to an actual workflow that feeds real numbers into an ROI calculator—does the AI actually understand what you need? Or do you end up rebuilding half of it anyway?
I’m especially curious about the ROI metrics tracking. Does the generated workflow actually set up the right metrics collection, or do you have to go back and wire all that up manually?
Has anyone actually used AI Copilot to generate an ROI calculation workflow and shipped it without major customization?
