I keep hearing about ready-to-use Playwright templates for common stuff like login flows and form submission. The pitch is you don’t start from scratch, you just grab a template and customize it for your app.

But I’m wondering what the reality is. Do templates actually save meaningful time, or do you end up rewriting most of the code anyway because your app is different from the template?

Also curious about maintenance. If you’re using a template and the template gets updated, do you automatically get improvements? Or are you stuck with whatever you pulled and then modified?
