Seeking inspiration for new WordPress plugin development

Hi WordPress community!

I’ve been working with WordPress for years and I’m itching to start a side project. I’m curious about what kind of plugins you guys wish existed or think could be improved.

Do you have any pain points with your current setup? Maybe there’s a feature you’ve always wanted but can’t find? Or a plugin that’s close to perfect but missing something key?

I’m open to all ideas, big or small. It could be anything from improving site speed to adding unique functionality. Let me know what you think would make your WordPress experience better!

Thanks for your input. I’m excited to see what cool ideas you all come up with!

Having worked extensively with WordPress, I’ve noticed a significant gap in the realm of accessibility plugins. While there are some options available, most fall short in providing comprehensive solutions for making websites truly inclusive.

What I envision is a plugin that goes beyond basic color contrast and alt text checks. It could incorporate features like automatic audio descriptions for images, easy implementation of ARIA landmarks, and a built-in screen reader simulator for testing. Additionally, it could offer real-time suggestions for improving content readability and structure.

From my experience, many site owners want to make their content accessible but find the process daunting. A plugin that simplifies this process while educating users about accessibility best practices would be invaluable. It could even include a certification feature, allowing sites to showcase their commitment to inclusivity.

This kind of tool would not only benefit users with disabilities but also improve overall user experience and potentially boost SEO rankings. It’s an area where innovation could make a real difference in how we approach web design and content creation in WordPress.

As someone who’s been in the trenches with WordPress for years, I’ve noticed a glaring gap in the plugin ecosystem: a robust, user-friendly solution for managing content relationships. Sure, we have options like Posts 2 Posts, but they often fall short for complex sites.

What I envision is a plugin that allows for seamless linking between posts, pages, and custom post types, with an intuitive interface for both admins and end-users. Imagine being able to easily create and visualize content hierarchies, set up bi-directional relationships, and even implement contextual content suggestions based on these connections.

This could revolutionize how we structure and present information on WordPress sites, especially for large-scale projects like documentation hubs or educational platforms. It would streamline content management and significantly enhance user navigation.

From my experience, such a tool would be a game-changer for content-heavy sites, addressing a pain point many of us have grappled with for years.

hey, what about a plugin that makes it super easy to create and manage online courses? i’ve seen some out there, but they’re either too complicated or don’t have all the features I need. it’d be awesome to have something that lets you organize lessons, quizzes, and track student progress without needing a phd to figure it out. just my 2 cents!
