Setting up Mailgun integration with Mautic for email delivery

I recently set up Mautic version 6 on my server and I’m looking for a way to configure Mailgun as my email service provider. After going through the settings and configuration options, I can’t seem to find any built-in integration for Mailgun API.

I was expecting to see Mailgun listed among the available email transport options, but it doesn’t appear to be there. I’ve checked the email configuration section thoroughly but only found standard SMTP settings and a few other providers.

Has anyone successfully integrated Mailgun with Mautic v6? Is this feature available through plugins or does it require manual configuration? I’d appreciate any guidance on how to set this up properly for reliable email delivery.

totally get ur frustration! so, yeah, v6 doesn’t have direct mailgun support anymore, but using smtp should still work. just take the smtp creds from mailgun and put em in the smtp setup. it’s not as easy as before, but it gets the job done!

Same thing happened to me during my migration from an older Mautic version. They dropped the native Mailgun integration in recent updates - totally caught me off guard. But SMTP works great once you nail the settings. Just grab your SMTP credentials from Mailgun’s dashboard: smtp.mailgun.org, port 587, TLS encryption. Make sure you’re using your domain credentials, not your account ones - that’s the trick. I’ve been running this setup for months and delivery’s been rock solid. You’ll lose some advanced Mailgun features from the old API integration, but it handles standard campaigns perfectly fine.

Yeah, you’re right - they ditched the Mailgun integration to focus on core SMTP stuff. I dealt with this same pain six months ago when I upgraded my Mautic instance. I tried building a custom plugin but that’s way too much work for most people. Just switch to Mailgun’s SMTP service instead of fighting with the API integration. Performance is basically the same and Mautic’s analytics still work fine. One heads up though - set up your SPF and DKIM records correctly in Mailgun’s domain settings or you’ll get deliverability problems that didn’t exist with the old API.
