I just found out that Gmail doesn’t let you change your email address once it’s created. This is really frustrating because my current email has my old name in it that I don’t use anymore. I’ve been thinking about making a completely new account, but I have so many services, subscriptions, and contacts tied to this one that switching would be a huge hassle.
The only thing I can do is update the display name that shows up when I send emails, which helps a little bit. But the actual email address itself is stuck with the old name forever.
Has anyone else dealt with this situation? It’s annoying that such a basic feature isn’t available.
