Vertex AI Agent Builder: FAQ documents not showing up in data store searches

I’m having trouble with the Agent Builder in Vertex AI. I set up three data stores, including one for a website. The Tool function can search the website data store just fine. But when I try to search the FAQ documents, I get nothing back, even for exact matches.

I’ve tried a bunch of things to fix it:

  • Detached and reattached the data store
  • Deleted all the FAQ docs and added them again
  • Checked if any docs were searchable (a few were, most weren’t)

Nothing seems to work. I can’t figure out how to debug this or what might be causing it. Has anyone run into this before? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or fix it? I’m pretty stuck here and could use some help.

hey dave, had similar issues. try clearing ur browser cache n cookies, then rebuild the data store from scratch. sometimes vertex ai gets wonky w/ cached stuff. also double-check ur faq format - make sure its plain text or supported file type. good luck man!
