What methods worked for your initial Shopify store sales without existing audience?

I just launched my Shopify store but I don’t have thousands of followers on Instagram or Facebook like some other sellers. It feels like paid advertising might be my only option to get customers right now.

I’m curious about how other store owners handled their first few months. Did you jump straight into Facebook ads or Google ads? How much money did you set aside for advertising when you were just starting out? Were there any other ways you managed to drive people to your store besides running paid campaigns? I want to make sure I’m not missing any obvious traffic sources before I spend all my budget on ads.

When I launched my store a while back, I discovered that organic traffic sources were invaluable. Initially, I focused on optimizing my site for SEO by crafting detailed product descriptions and integrating relevant keywords. Additionally, I started a blog to share insights related to my niche, which surprisingly resulted in steady organic growth over time. Engaging with micro-influencers also proved beneficial; many were willing to promote my products in exchange for honest reviews. During those early months, I spent modestly on ads, around $200, using them mainly to test what worked while nurturing my organic audience. This balanced approach ultimately laid a strong foundation for lasting sales.
