Our migration plan involves moving about 15 critical workflows from our proprietary BPM system to an open-source platform. We’re talking about invoicing, approvals, customer onboarding, and some internal administrative workflows that are core to how the business runs.
What I’m hearing is that you can use AI Agents to help coordinate some of this work—data mapping, testing, governance checks across all the workflows. That sounds good in theory, but I’m not sure how that actually works at scale.
Our concern is that even if the AI agents handle some of the coordination tasks, we still need people making decisions about whether the migrated workflows are acceptable. Someone has to verify that the customer onboarding workflow in the new system has the same controls and SLAs as the original. Someone has to sign off on governance compliance.
How do teams actually handle the governance piece when they’re migrating multiple critical workflows at once? Are the AI agents actually reducing the workload, or are they just automating steps that don’t eliminate the need for human review? I’m trying to figure out if AI agent orchestration speeds up our migration timeline or if we’re underestimating how much manual validation will still be required.
