Adobe's next move after Figma deal collapse?

I’m curious about Adobe’s strategy now that their Figma purchase didn’t work out. They stopped updating XD and can’t buy Figma anymore. What options do we have for UX design and prototyping?

My company has Adobe licenses for everyone, but it’s tough to convince them to pay for Figma too. I’m wondering if Adobe has a plan B for design tools. Are they working on something new? Or should we look at other alternatives?

It’s frustrating not knowing what direction to take for our design work. Has anyone heard any news about Adobe’s plans in this area? I’d love to hear what other teams are doing to handle this situation.

Adobe’s likely reassessing their design tool strategy. They’ve got deep pockets and a history of adapting, so I wouldn’t count them out yet. In the meantime, you might want to explore Sketch or Axure as alternatives. They’re robust and widely used in the industry. If your company’s hesitant about new subscriptions, consider pitching a trial period to test these tools’ ROI. Keep an eye on Adobe’s announcements, but don’t wait too long to make a decision. The design world moves fast, and you don’t want to fall behind while Adobe figures out their next move.

Having been through similar situations, I can relate to your frustration. In my experience, Adobe tends to play the long game. They might be quietly developing something to rival Figma, but these things take time.

In the interim, I’ve found success with Penpot. It’s open-source and web-based, which means no extra licenses needed. My team transitioned to it fairly smoothly from XD. The learning curve isn’t steep, and it integrates well with our existing workflows.

That said, keep pushing for Figma if that’s what you prefer. Sometimes, showing management concrete examples of improved efficiency can sway decisions. Document your team’s pain points with current tools and how Figma addresses them.

Ultimately, tool choice shouldn’t hinder your creativity. Focus on delivering great designs, regardless of the software you’re using. Adobe will make their move when they’re ready, but your work shouldn’t wait for them.

yo, adobe’s probs cookin smthn up behind the scenes. they aint gonna let figma run away w/ the market. but for now, check out Lunacy or inVision Studio. both solid options n might fit ur budget. keep an eye on adobe news tho, they might surprise us soon

i reckon adobes might either revamp xd or roll out a new tool. theyre behind figma’s pace rn. maybe consider sketch or invision meanwhile. check with ur IT if adobes dropped any news.
