Hey everyone,
I just found out that Figma got rid of their AI design tool. Does anyone know why they did this? I was really starting to like using it for my projects.
It’s kind of a bummer because I thought it was super helpful for coming up with quick ideas. Now I’m not sure what to use instead.
Has anyone else noticed this change? What do you think about it? Are there any good alternatives you’d recommend?
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this. It seems like AI tools are becoming more common in design, so I wonder if Figma will bring something similar back in the future.
Let me know what you think!
I’ve been following this situation closely. From what I understand, Figma removed the AI tool due to some licensing issues with the underlying technology. It’s disappointing, but not entirely surprising given how new and complex AI integration can be.
As for alternatives, I’ve had good experiences with Canva’s AI features for quick ideation. Adobe’s Firefly is another option worth exploring if you’re looking for AI-assisted design capabilities. That said, these tools can’t fully replicate Figma’s seamless workflow integration.
In the meantime, I’ve found that building a solid library of reusable components and leveraging Figma’s existing automation features can help streamline the design process. It’s not the same as AI, but it can boost efficiency considerably.
I suspect Figma is working on developing their own proprietary AI solution. Given their track record of innovation, I wouldn’t be surprised to see an improved AI tool from them in the near future.
yeah, i noticed that too. kinda sucks they took it away without much warning. have u tried midjourney? heard good things but haven’t used it myself. maybe figma will bring back something better later on. for now i’m just brainstorming the old-fashioned way lol
