All-inclusive Fishing Spreadsheet Template

Hey fellow anglers! I’m looking for a detailed spreadsheet to track my fishing adventures. Does anyone know of a good Google Sheets template that covers things like:

  • Fishing spots with GPS coordinates
  • Fish species caught
  • Lure types and effectiveness
  • Weather conditions
  • Best times of day
  • Personal records

I’ve tried making my own, but it’s not as organized as I’d like. If you have any suggestions or links to templates, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve been using a customized Excel template for years that covers all those bases and more. It’s become an invaluable tool for analyzing my fishing patterns and improving my success rate. I started with a basic template I found online and gradually expanded it to suit my needs.

Key features I’ve added include:

  • Moon phase tracking
  • Water temperature logs
  • Bait effectiveness ratings
  • Seasonal patterns analysis
  • Equipment maintenance schedule

The real game-changer was adding pivot tables to easily visualize trends. It’s amazing how much you can learn about your fishing habits when you have all the data at your fingertips.

I’d be happy to share my template if you’re interested. Just keep in mind it might take some tweaking to fit your specific needs and fishing style. Let me know if you want me to send it your way.

yo emma, check out fishbrain app. it’s got most of that stuff built-in, plus a huge community sharing spots n tips. way easier than messin with spreadsheets imho. u can export data too if u still wanna play around in sheets. give it a shot!

I’ve found that keeping a detailed fishing log is crucial for improving your angling skills. While spreadsheets are useful, I prefer a dedicated fishing journal that allows for more flexibility in recording observations and thoughts that don’t always fit neatly into columns.

My journal includes sketches of successful rigs, notes on fish behavior, and even photos of memorable catches. I’ve incorporated QR codes linking to GPS coordinates of my favorite spots.

For data analysis, I use a simple database app that syncs with my journal entries. This combination offers the best of both worlds: detailed qualitative information and quantifiable data for trend analysis.

Consider this hybrid approach. It might require some initial setup, but it’s incredibly rewarding in the long run.
