Any good cooking YouTube channels without annoying editing?

I’m trying to find some decent cooking channels on YouTube that are actually watchable. I really like Brian Lagerstrom’s style because his videos are well made and he shares recipes that you can actually cook at home. His stuff has a nice mix of healthy options and comfort food too.

What I can’t stand is all that crazy editing and over the top personality stuff that seems to be everywhere now. You know what I mean - those channels where they jump cut every two seconds and try way too hard to be funny. Joshua Weissman is a perfect example of what I want to avoid. His recipes might be good but the presentation is just too much for me.

Does anyone have suggestions for channels that focus more on the actual cooking instead of trying to entertain? I just want to learn some new recipes without getting a headache from all the flashy editing.

I completely understand your frustration with the over-produced cooking content. After going through dozens of channels myself, I found that Chef John from Food Wishes hits that sweet spot you’re looking for. His videos are straightforward with minimal editing, and he focuses entirely on technique and ingredients rather than personality gimmicks. The guy has been making videos for years with the same calm, educational approach. Another one worth checking out is America’s Test Kitchen - they do proper recipe testing and explain the science behind why things work, which I find more valuable than flashy production. Both channels treat cooking seriously without all the unnecessary theatrics that seem to dominate the platform these days.
