I’m working with Google Forms and using a custom script called NotificationSender to automatically email form responses to a couple of team members whenever someone submits data.
The issue comes up during our monthly events when lots of people submit forms simultaneously. I keep hitting the daily email quota and need to send around 200 emails per day instead of the standard 100 limit.
I’ve been searching everywhere but getting mixed answers about whether it’s possible to raise this quota. Some sources claim it’s impossible while others suggest there might be paid options available. Has anyone successfully increased their Apps Script email quota? What’s the actual process if it exists?
Any help would be appreciated since this limitation is affecting our workflow during busy periods.
had this exact prob last year with event registrations. google workspace admin console doesn’t let u increase limits - i looked everywhere. switched to mailjet for bulk notifications during busy periods. costs around $10/month but handles way more volume than apps script. just update ur notificationsender code to use their api.
I experienced a similar issue when managing high submission volumes. Unfortunately, Google does enforce email sending limits in Apps Script and these generally aren’t increased for standard accounts, even with payment. A more effective solution could be to utilize the Gmail API with a service account, as this provides enhanced sending limits and reliability. Although it requires implementing OAuth2, the benefits are worthwhile. Additionally, consider scheduling emails to send at intervals or during less busy times to optimize your capacity. This approach has resolved my sending issues significantly.
Been dealing with this exact problem for our quarterly surveys. The quota limits are set in stone no matter what Google Workspace plan you have. What worked for me was ditching individual emails through Apps Script entirely - I started batching form responses and sending digest emails once or twice daily during busy periods. You could also set up a queue system that spreads emails across multiple days automatically. Another option is integrating with SendGrid or Mailgun through their APIs, which gives you way higher sending limits and better deliverability tracking. Takes more setup work upfront but kills the quota headaches completely.
