Are we being misled about the real impact of AI agents in business?

As a tech leader with over a decade of experience, I’m puzzled by the hype surrounding AI agents, especially n8n. What I see online doesn’t match reality.

n8n is great for small-scale automation, helping folks tackle their own workflow bottlenecks. It’s user-friendly and effective for individual use.

But here’s the thing: big companies aren’t rushing to adopt AI agents like some YouTube videos claim. Having worked in large firms, I know the hurdles involved in implementing new tech on a big scale.

Security concerns and existing systems make it unlikely that AI agents are revolutionizing major business processes right now.

I’m skeptical about stories of ‘$40,000’ AI workflows being sold to companies. If that were true, wouldn’t every software salesperson be jumping on this bandwagon?

From what I’ve seen in this community, people often ask if anyone’s actually making money with AI agents. It seems the only ones profiting are those selling the idea.

While AI is promising, it’s not yet the game-changer for B2B solutions that some claim. Let’s be realistic about its current capabilities and impact.

I’ve been in the trenches with AI implementation for a few years now, and I gotta say, the reality is far from the hype. Sure, there’s potential, but it’s not the silver bullet some make it out to be.

In my experience, most companies are still in the experimentation phase. We’ve had some wins with chatbots and predictive analytics, but it’s been a slow burn. The real challenge isn’t the tech itself, it’s getting it to play nice with legacy systems and corporate red tape.

That said, I’ve seen some mid-size companies make impressive strides. They’re nimble enough to adopt faster than the big guys, but have more resources than small businesses. They’re finding sweet spots in customer service and data analysis.

Bottom line: AI’s impact is growing, but it’s more of a gradual shift than a revolution. Anyone claiming otherwise is probably trying to sell you something. Stay skeptical, but keep an open mind – that’s my two cents.

yo, i get where ur coming from. the hype around AI is crazy rn. but i think its a mix - some companies r actually using it, others r just talkin bout it. maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle? like AI’s useful but not magic. we gotta be smart about how we look at this stuff
