Hey folks! I’m working on setting up a system to automatically enrich our new leads. When someone signs up, we get their email and name. But I want more info!
I’m looking to:
- Find their company
- Get their LinkedIn profile
- Know where they’re based
- Grab other useful details
Most sign-ups are business emails, but we also get some personal ones (thanks, Google login!). I’ve been checking out Zapier and Dropcontact, but I’m open to other tools too.
Has anyone done something like this before? What worked for you? Any tips or tricks to share? I’m all ears!
Also, if there are any gotchas or things to watch out for, I’d love to know. Thanks in advance for your help!
I’ve actually implemented a similar system for our startup, and it’s been a game-changer for our sales team. We use a combination of Zapier, Clearbit, and Hunter.io, which has worked wonders for us.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Zapier is great for connecting different tools, but be careful with API limits. We hit ours pretty quickly and had to upgrade.
Clearbit’s API is fantastic for enriching data, especially for business emails. It pulls company info, location, and even social profiles.
For personal emails, we use Hunter.io to find associated business emails, then run those through Clearbit.
One big tip: clean your data before enrichment. We wasted a lot of API calls on junk emails at first.
Also, make sure you’re compliant with data protection laws. We had to tweak our privacy policy and add some opt-out options.
It takes some setup, but once it’s running, it’s pretty hands-off. Good luck with your project!
I’ve had success with a similar setup using Zapier and Dropcontact. One crucial aspect often overlooked is data quality assurance. Implementing a validation step before enrichment can save resources and improve accuracy.
Consider using a tool like NeverBounce to verify email addresses first. This reduces wasted API calls and ensures you’re only enriching valid leads.
For LinkedIn profiles, LinkedIn Sales Navigator can be integrated with Zapier for more comprehensive data. However, be mindful of LinkedIn’s usage policies to avoid account restrictions.
A word of caution: While automation is powerful, it’s essential to maintain a human touch in your outreach. Over-reliance on enriched data can lead to impersonal interactions.
Lastly, regularly audit your enrichment process. Data sources change, and what works today might not be as effective in six months.
hey, i’ve used zapier and hunter.io for lead enrichment. works decently most times but watch out for api limits! also double-check your privacy policy so you don’t run afoul of gdpr. best of luck setting it up!
