I’m looking for recommendations on hosting providers that can run n8n effectively. Currently using Siteground but it seems they don’t support this type of application.
I’m based in Europe and need something straightforward - definitely not interested in complex cloud platforms like AWS where you have to build everything yourself. I want to avoid the hassle of setting up infrastructure from zero.
I’m comfortable with server setup and deploying n8n through Docker containers, so that’s not an issue. Traffic will be minimal since this is just for personal automation workflows alongside my existing site.
What hosting services have worked well for you? Looking for something reliable but not overcomplicated.
DigitalOcean droplets have been working great for my n8n setup. Their basic $6/month droplet handles n8n without any issues, and their one-click Docker installation makes deployment pretty smooth. The interface is much simpler than AWS but still gives you full control over your server environment. I’ve been running multiple automation workflows for about eight months now with zero downtime issues. Their European data centers should work well for your location too. The documentation is solid and their community tutorials specifically cover n8n deployment scenarios. Performance has been consistent even during heavy workflow execution periods, and scaling up is straightforward if you need more resources later.
Hetzner Cloud has been my go-to for hosting n8n workflows in Europe for the past year. Their CX11 instance at around €3 monthly handles personal automation tasks perfectly well, and you get proper European data centers in Germany and Finland. The setup process is quite simple - they provide Ubuntu images with Docker pre-configured which saves time during initial deployment. What I particularly appreciate is their transparent pricing without hidden costs and reliable network performance. Their web console is clean and functional without being overwhelming like some enterprise platforms. I’ve experienced maybe two brief maintenance windows in twelve months, both scheduled well in advance. The bandwidth allocation is generous enough for typical n8n webhook traffic and API calls.
linode might be worth checking out - been using them for similiar stuff and their shared cpu instances are pretty affordable. setup is straightforward and they have decent support when things go wrong. never had major issues with uptime and docker works fine on their platform.
I was in the exact same situation a few months back — I needed something simple and reliable for running n8n with Docker without dealing with the complexity of AWS or GCP. After testing a couple of providers, I finally settled on QloudHost, and it’s been working really well for me.
They offer offshore VPS hosting that’s straightforward to set up, and since you’re already comfortable with Docker, you’ll find deployment super smooth. What I liked is that their servers come clean and flexible, so you’re not fighting with pre-installed stuff you don’t need. Performance-wise, it’s stable (no random crashes), and support has been very responsive whenever I had small queries.
I’m running a few light automation workflows + a small site there, and everything has been solid so far. If you’re looking for something in Europe, they’ve got servers in the Netherlands which makes latency great for EU users.
Might be worth checking them out — I honestly find it a nice middle ground between complex cloud setups and overly limited shared hosting.
