Hey everyone! I’m playing as a puppeteer character and just hit level 15. When I got to the class selection screen, I noticed there’s no option to stick with my current puppet design. I really love how my basic puppet looks right now - it has this cool style that I’m attached to. The other two puppet options available for advancement just don’t appeal to me at all. Their designs are completely different from what I want. Is there some way to maintain my original puppet’s appearance while still progressing in the game? Maybe through some kind of cosmetic system or special option I missed? I’d hate to lose this look since I’ve grown attached to my character’s current style. Any advice would be super helpful!
tbh i think ur stuck with the new designs mate. tried everything when i advanced my puppeteer last month and couldnt find any way around it. the transmog thing sounds intresting but never heard of that quest myself - might be server specific? best bet is just picking whichever advanced puppet looks closest to ur current one and hoping you get used to it over time.
Unfortunately, the game doesn’t allow you to retain your original puppet appearance after class advancement at level 15. I faced a similar dilemma with my first puppeteer character. The system mandates that you select from the new advanced puppet designs, and bypassing this isn’t possible within the typical progression. However, I’ve seen some players achieve a close replica of their original look by creating new characters with the same base designs and experimenting with specific equipment to mimic their previous appearance. While this isn’t an ideal solution, it could be interesting to explore different gear combinations on your advanced puppet to approach your original design. Over time, the advanced puppets can grow on you, but I completely understand the bond with your current look.
I actually discovered a workaround for this issue during my second playthrough. While you cannot directly keep the base puppet model, there’s a transmog system that becomes available around level 20-25 that most players overlook. You need to complete the “Puppet Master’s Legacy” questline which starts in the advanced training grounds. The quest requires you to collect materials from your original puppet design before advancement, so you’ll need to visit the puppet customization menu one more time before selecting your class. Once completed, you can apply the original appearance as a cosmetic overlay. It’s somewhat tedious and requires backtracking, but it preserves that aesthetic you’ve grown attached to while maintaining all the mechanical benefits of advancement.
