I’ve been thinking about how we don’t really know much about what’s going on in Overwatch right now. It would be awesome if the devs could share some info about hero pick rates, who’s getting banned a lot, and how many players are in each rank for the new season.
Does anyone else want to see this kind of stuff? I feel like it would help us understand the game better and know where we stand compared to other players. Maybe they could put it on their website or make an API for it?
What do you guys think? Would this be useful for you too? Let me know if you have any other ideas about what kind of stats you’d want to see!
yeah, i’d love to see those stats too! been playin for ages and always wondered bout the real numbers. like, is my main actually popular or am i just seein things? and the rank thing would be cool to know where i stand. blizz should def share this stuff, it’d make the game way more interestin to follow. maybe they’re scared it’ll make some heroes look bad tho lol
I’ve been tracking my own stats for a while now, and I can tell you it’s not the same as having official data. There’s always that nagging doubt about accuracy. Official stats would be a game-changer for understanding meta trends and making informed decisions about which heroes to focus on.
From what I’ve seen in my matches, certain heroes seem overrepresented, but without hard data, it’s just anecdotal. It would be fascinating to see if my perceptions align with reality across different ranks. Plus, knowing the actual rank distribution would put those ‘I’m stuck in ELO hell’ complaints into perspective.
The devs might be concerned about stats influencing play too much, but I think the benefits outweigh the risks. It could lead to more strategic gameplay and help balance discussions be more productive. Here’s hoping they consider implementing this soon.
As someone who’s been playing Overwatch since launch, I couldn’t agree more with this suggestion. The lack of official stats has always been a bit frustrating. I remember back in the early seasons when we had to rely on third-party sites for any kind of data, and even those weren’t always accurate.
From my experience, having access to this kind of information can really help players improve their game. Knowing which heroes are performing well at different ranks could inform your hero picks and help you climb. And understanding the rank distribution would give us a clearer picture of where we stand in the community.
I’ve seen other competitive games release this kind of data, and it always sparks interesting discussions in the community. It could also help identify balance issues more quickly. The devs might be hesitant to share too much, but even a quarterly report would be a huge improvement over what we have now.
