I’m wondering if anyone here has experience using the HubSpot and QuickBooks Online integration with a free HubSpot account. Is this even possible or do you need a paid plan?
I’ve seen some posts online mentioning problems with invoice syncing and data editing between the two platforms. Some of this information seemed pretty old though, so I’m not sure if these issues still exist.
If you’re currently using both tools together, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. What works well and what doesn’t? Any setup tips or things to watch out for?
I know my way around both platforms individually but I’ve never tried connecting them before, especially not with HubSpot’s free tier.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use the native QuickBooks Online integration with HubSpot’s free plan; a paid Marketing Hub Starter plan is required for that. I faced a similar situation when I tried to connect the two platforms, and I found it quite frustrating. However, there are alternatives like Zapier, which can link HubSpot’s free account to QuickBooks Online, though with limited functionality. You’ll primarily be able to sync basic contact information and simple workflows rather than full financial data. As for the invoice syncing issues you mentioned, those were significant concerns in previous versions, but HubSpot has addressed many of those problems in recent updates, enhancing their conflict resolution capabilities so that data editing conflicts are much reduced.
I did this exact thing six months ago. Yeah, direct integration needs a paid HubSpot plan, but I found a workaround using their API and basic automation tools. It’s not as smooth as native integration, but I got contact data moving between systems pretty well. The big issue? Financial transactions and invoice details won’t sync without paying for HubSpot. Basic customer info transfers fine, but revenue tracking and financial reports get messy fast. Even with workarounds, you’ll spend tons of time keeping the connection working. I ended up doing manual entry for important financial records, which kind of kills the whole point. If you’re planning to connect these long-term, just budget for HubSpot’s Starter plan. It’s probably cheaper than all the time you’ll waste on DIY solutions.
