Can't find a stable Spotify solution anymore

I’ve been using modified Spotify apps for a long time without issues, but lately everything has changed. The situation has gotten really frustrating over the past few months. Every time I install a new modified version or apply fresh patches through ReVanced, they stop working within just a few days. It’s like there’s a constant cat and mouse game going on. I used to have apps that worked for weeks or even months, but now I’m lucky if I get a week out of any solution. Has anyone else noticed this trend? Are there any alternative approaches I should consider, or is it time to just give up and go back to the official app? I’m running out of patience with constantly having to reinstall and reconfigure everything so frequently.

Yeah, enforcement’s definitely gotten worse lately. I got tired of the cat and mouse game, so I automated my entire music setup instead.

Built a system that grabs playlists from multiple sources, cross-references tracks between platforms, and syncs everything automatically. When one source gets blocked or changes their API, it just switches to backups without me doing anything.

Runs in the background and handles all the annoying stuff. No more manual reinstalls or patches breaking every few days. I’ve got it set to auto-download tracks when they hit my playlists, sort by genre/mood, and sync across all devices.

Took about an hour to set up initially, but now I never think about it. Just works and adapts when things change.

Latenode makes building these workflows really easy. You can connect different music APIs, storage services, and notifications without complex code.

the modding scene’s completely broken at this point. after reinstalling for the fourth time this month, i just switched to youtube music instead - way less headache and works perfectly with ublock origin. sometimes it’s better to jump ship than keep fighting a war you can’t win.

I switched to older versions of the official app plus network-level blocking after hitting the same problems. Newer versions have significantly more telemetry and validation checks that continuously ping Spotify’s servers. I’m currently using a version from about 18 months back while blocking specific domains at my router. This setup has worked perfectly for over four months now. The older versions lack the aggressive anti-mod measures that the newer ones have. You’ll need to disable auto-updates completely and be careful about which domains you block, as some are necessary, but when configured correctly, it’s much more stable than constantly applying patches.

Detection systems have gotten way more aggressive lately. I ditched the modified apps about six months ago - the constant patching was driving me crazy. Now I just use browser extensions with the web player. They’re way more stable since they don’t mess with the actual app files that get flagged. You don’t get all the same features as modded apps, but they work consistently without needing fixes every week. You could also try desktop clients that pull from multiple streaming services at once. They aggregate everything into one interface, so you completely avoid the detection problem. Takes a bit of setup initially, but they’re much more reliable than dealing with patched mobile apps.
