Hey everyone,
I’m trying to set up an email system for my small business. I’ve heard good things about Stalwart as a mail server, but I’m not sure how to integrate it with third-party email services.
Has anyone here used Stalwart with either smtp2go or mailgun? I’m wondering about the pros and cons of each combo. Is one easier to set up than the other? What about reliability and deliverability?
Also, if you’ve used these setups, did you run into any unexpected issues? Any tips or tricks you can share would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance for any insights!
i’ve used stalwart with smtp2go and it’s been pretty good. setup was straightforward, just follow their docs. deliverability is decent, tho sometimes emails end up in spam. one tip: keep an eye on your sending limits. ran into issues when we hit our cap unexpectedly. overall, it works well for our needs.
I’ve had experience with both Stalwart and smtp2go in my previous role at a marketing agency. The integration was relatively smooth, but there were some quirks to iron out. One major advantage was smtp2go’s excellent customer support - they were incredibly responsive when we hit snags during setup.
Reliability-wise, we saw consistent performance, with very few delivery failures. However, we did notice that certain email clients, particularly older versions of Outlook, sometimes had rendering issues with our more complex HTML emails.
A word of caution: carefully monitor your sending reputation. We once had a disgruntled ex-employee use our system to send spam, which temporarily tanked our deliverability. It took weeks to fully recover. Regular audits of user access and strict sending policies are crucial.
Despite these challenges, the Stalwart-smtp2go combo served us well for high-volume email campaigns. Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve at the outset.
I’ve been using Stalwart with Mailgun for about a year now, and it’s been a solid combination. The setup wasn’t too difficult, but it did require some careful configuration. Mailgun’s documentation is quite comprehensive, which helped.
In terms of reliability, I’ve had very few issues. Deliverability has been excellent, with minimal emails landing in spam folders. One unexpected challenge was dealing with rate limiting during high-volume periods, but tweaking the settings resolved this.
A tip: make sure to properly set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. This significantly improves your email deliverability and reputation. Also, regularly monitor your sending metrics to catch any potential issues early.
Overall, I’d recommend the Stalwart-Mailgun combo for its robustness and scalability.
