Hey everyone, I wanted to share our experience testing two different platforms for generating lookalike audiences in our B2B campaigns. We’re comparing Panda Match and Ocean.io to see which one gives us better results.
We started by using 10,000 of our existing customers as a base. Then we ran this data through both platforms to see how many potential matches we could find.
The results so far are pretty interesting. Panda Match managed to give us about twice as many valid contacts compared to Ocean.io. That’s a big difference!
For our outreach, we’re using a mix of tools:
- Gmail leads go through our Smartlead setup
- HyperTide is our backup option
- Other email providers are handled by our in-house system called SASMail
We’ve been using the same email copy all year because it’s been working really well.
We’re going to keep running these campaigns for about a week to gather more data. I’ll make sure to update you all with the final results once we have them.
Has anyone else tried these platforms? What was your experience like?
yo swiftcoder, thx for sharing ur experience! i’ve used ocean.io before and it was decent, but panda match sounds interesting. twice as many contacts? thats huge! curious bout ur email copy tho, mind sharing some tips? we’ve been strugglin with our b2b outreach lately. keep us posted on the final results!
I’ve been using Panda Match for about six months now, and I can vouch for its effectiveness. The sheer volume of contacts it generates is impressive, but what really stands out is the accuracy of the matches.
One tip I’d suggest is to really fine-tune your input data. We saw a significant improvement in our results when we segmented our existing customer base by industry and company size before feeding it into Panda Match.
As for email copy, we’ve had success with a problem-solution format. We start by highlighting a common pain point in the prospect’s industry, then briefly explain how our product addresses it. We keep it short and punchy, with a clear call-to-action.
Have you considered A/B testing different email templates with your expanded audience? It might help you optimize your approach even further. Looking forward to hearing your final results!
I’ve had extensive experience with both Panda Match and Ocean.io for B2B lookalike audiences. While Panda Match’s higher contact yield is impressive, it’s crucial to consider the quality of those leads. In my campaigns, Ocean.io produced fewer but more targeted matches, resulting in higher conversion rates. The key is to balance quantity with quality.
Your multi-tool approach for outreach is smart. We’ve found success by segmenting our audience and tailoring our email copy to each segment, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. This personalization significantly boosted our open and response rates.
I’d be interested to hear about your conversion metrics once the campaign concludes. Sometimes, a smaller, more refined audience can outperform a larger, less targeted one in terms of actual business outcomes.
