I’m currently exploring different platforms to handle my business operations and sales processes. Right now I’m working with Hubspot to set up sales management but I recently discovered Ignition and it looks interesting.
From what I can see, both tools offer workflow automation and contract handling capabilities. What caught my attention about Ignition is that it also handles invoicing and payment processing. I’m curious about their pricing structure and whether they support both bank transfers and card payments.
I’ve already started creating a promotional page using Hubspot’s tools, but I’m wondering if switching to Ignition might be worth it. Has anyone used both platforms and can share their experience with the transition?
yeah, Ignition gets pricey when u scale up, but the all-in-one setup pays for itself. I used to waste hours chasing invoices with HubSpot plus whatever billing tool I used that month. Ignition handles ACH and card payments smoothly, and the fees aren’t crazy. fair warning though - migration was a nightmare. had to rebuild pretty much every template from zero.
Switched from HubSpot to Ignition and it’s been great for my business. Having contracts, proposals, and invoicing all in one place cut my admin work way down. They’ve got tiered pricing based on how many clients you have, plus they handle both ACH and credit card payments. Took me about two weeks to move everything over - mostly just transferring client data and tweaking my workflows. HubSpot’s still better for marketing automation though. I actually use both now - HubSpot for leads and Ignition for onboarding and billing. Works really well.
I went through this same decision 8 months ago and tested both extensively. Ignition’s great for recurring clients - the contract management is solid and payment processing is seamless. Their client portal keeps everything organized. But HubSpot’s CRM blows it away, especially for lead nurturing and complex sales pipelines. The reporting’s way better too. Figure out your biggest pain point first. Struggling with contract creation and collecting payments? Go with Ignition. Lead management and sales tracking giving you headaches? Stick with HubSpot and add a simple invoicing tool like QuickBooks or FreshBooks.
Been there. I was constantly juggling between Ignition and HubSpot tabs, which drove me crazy. What actually solved it was automating everything to work together.
Don’t pick one over the other - connect them. Now when HubSpot captures a lead, it automatically generates contracts, sends follow-ups, processes payments, and updates everything. Zero manual work.
Pull data from both platforms, connect your invoicing, and you’ve got one workflow handling lead capture through final payment. You keep what works from each tool without the dashboard nightmare.
Payment reminders, contract updates, client emails - it all runs automatically once you set it up.

Honestly, it depends where your business is right now. I switched from HubSpot to Ignition six months ago and I’m happy with it, but my needs were pretty specific. I was wasting tons of time creating proposals and chasing payments. Ignition’s flow is smooth - clients can view, sign, and pay everything in one spot. The recurring billing alone saves me 4-5 hours every week. But if you’re deep into HubSpot’s ecosystem with complex marketing funnels, starting over probably isn’t worth it. Ignition’s pricing goes up with active clients, so it gets pricey fast if you’ve got a big client base. Support’s good though, and it’s not hard to learn if you know CRM workflows.
