We currently have separate subscriptions for OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, and a handful of other AI model providers. It’s a mess from a billing perspective, but I want to understand whether consolidating everything under one unified subscription actually improves things operationally.
Obviously the invoice gets simpler. But what else changes? Do workflows run differently? Does performance improve? Are there advantages beyond just reducing vendor management overhead?
I’m also thinking about the engineering side. Right now, our team has to manage separate API keys, different rate limits for each provider, and different integration patterns. Does a unified subscription model actually eliminate those friction points?
And from a business perspective—does having 400+ models under one subscription actually change how we approach automation? Do we use models differently if they all cost the same? Do we experiment more with different models if there’s no per-query cost anxiety?
I’m trying to build a real case for consolidation beyond just “fewer invoices to process.” What has actually changed for your team when you moved from juggling multiple AI subscriptions to a single unified plan?
