Could YouTube's upcoming changes completely prevent ad blocking software from working?

I’ve been hearing rumors that YouTube is planning some major technical updates that could make ad blockers totally useless. Has anyone else seen this news? I’m really worried because I use an ad blocker every day when watching videos. The ads on YouTube are getting so annoying and long that I can’t imagine going back to watching them.

Does anyone know what specific changes they’re planning to make? Are they going to integrate ads directly into the video stream or something like that? I’m wondering if there will be any workarounds or if popular ad blocking extensions will find ways to adapt to these changes. This could really change how we all use the platform.

totally agree, it’s getting super frustrating! i heard they’re trying to bake ads directly into the stream, so no way to block em. maybe the ad blocker folks will come up with a fix, but who knows how long that’ll take. hope there’s a workaround or i might have to stop watching :frowning:
