Cross-platform alternative to Google Docs for iPhone, Mac, and Windows

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a good office suite that works on multiple devices. Right now I switch between my iPhone, Mac, and Windows PC a lot. I’ve been using Google Docs because it’s easy to access my stuff everywhere, but I want to try something different.

Does anyone know of a good alternative that:

  • Works on iOS, macOS, and Windows
  • Lets me create and edit documents, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Syncs files between devices

I’d love to hear your suggestions! What office apps do you use across different platforms? Any pros and cons I should know about? Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you considered Zoho Docs? It’s a solid alternative to Google Docs that ticks all your boxes. I’ve been using it for about a year now across my devices.

The interface is clean and intuitive, quite similar to Google Docs actually. You get document, spreadsheet, and presentation editors that work seamlessly on iOS, macOS, and Windows. The mobile app is particularly well-designed for on-the-go edits.

One standout feature is its offline capabilities. You can work without internet and it’ll sync once you’re back online. The free plan offers 5GB storage, which is decent for most users.

I’ve found the collaboration tools quite robust too. Real-time editing and commenting work smoothly. The only downside I’ve noticed is that some advanced features are locked behind the paid plans. But for basic to intermediate use, the free version should suffice.

yo, check out LibreOffice. its free n open source, works on all ur devices. i use it on my mac n windows laptop, plus theres an app for iphone. u can make docs, spreadsheets, all that stuff. syncing is a bit tricky but u can use dropbox or somethin. not as polished as google docs but gets the job done

I’ve been using Microsoft Office 365 for a while now, and it’s been a real game-changer for cross-platform work. The suite includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more, all accessible on iOS, macOS, and Windows.

What I particularly like is the seamless syncing through OneDrive. I can start a document on my Mac, make quick edits on my iPhone during commute, and finish up on my Windows PC at work without missing a beat.

The mobile apps are surprisingly robust, especially on iOS. They’ve got most of the features you’d need on the go. The subscription model might be a drawback for some, but I find the regular updates and cloud storage make it worth it.

One thing to watch out for is occasional formatting inconsistencies between platforms, but it’s rare and usually minor. Overall, it’s been reliable and feature-rich enough to handle all my office needs across devices.
