Customizing and saving recipe order in digital notebook

Hey everyone! I’m using this cool digital notebook app for my recipes. It’s great because you can make all sorts of lists and stuff with it. I’ve got my recipes all set up just how I like them. The thing is, I want to keep this order as a preset I can go back to.

I know I could add numbers to each recipe, but I don’t want to clutter things up with extra info. I’ve looked online but can’t find a way to save this view. Does anyone know if it’s possible to save different orderings so I can switch between them easily?

It’d be super helpful to have one view for my favorites, another for seasonal dishes, and so on. Any tips would be awesome! Thanks!

I’ve been using digital notebooks for recipes for years, and I’ve found a neat trick that might help. Instead of relying on the app’s features, I create a separate ‘index’ page for each view I want. On these pages, I manually list the recipes in the order I prefer, maybe with a brief note or rating.

For example, my ‘Favorites’ index lists my top recipes with star ratings, while my ‘Seasonal’ index groups recipes by season. When I want a specific view, I just jump to that index page. It takes a bit of initial setup, but it’s incredibly flexible and doesn’t mess with your main recipe pages.

Another benefit is that these index pages become a sort of ‘recipe journal’ over time, showing how your preferences change. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s served me well in apps that lack custom ordering features.

I’ve encountered a similar challenge with recipe organization. One workaround I’ve found effective is creating separate notebooks or sections within your app for different categories. For instance, you could have a ‘Favorites’ notebook, a ‘Seasonal’ notebook, and so on. This approach allows you to maintain your preferred order within each category without altering the main recipe list. Additionally, some apps offer the option to create custom views or filters. It might be worth exploring your app’s advanced features or contacting their support team for specific guidance on saving custom orderings. If these options aren’t available, consider suggesting this feature to the app developers – user feedback often drives improvements in digital tools.

hey jackhero77, i feel ya on wanting to organize recipes! have u tried using tags or folders in ur app? u could tag recipes as ‘favorite’ or ‘seasonal’ and then filter by those tags. that way u can keep different views without messing with the order. hope this helps!
