I was just hanging out in the Deadlock Discord when something weird happened. Carl Bot suddenly sent a ping that notified everyone in the server. This isn’t normal, right?
Has anyone else seen this? I’m wondering if it was a glitch or if someone accidentally gave the bot permission to do that. It’s kind of annoying to get pinged for no reason.
Does anyone know how to stop this from happening again? Maybe we need to check the bot’s settings or something.
Let me know if you guys have any ideas about what’s going on. Thanks!
I actually noticed that ping too. It was pretty unexpected and caught me off guard. From what I understand, Carl Bot doesn’t usually have permissions to ping everyone unless it’s specifically set up that way. My guess is that one of the admins might have accidentally changed a setting or given the bot elevated permissions temporarily. It’s probably worth bringing this up to the server mods so they can double-check the bot’s configuration and role settings. They might need to adjust some things to prevent it from happening again. In the meantime, you could always mute the server notifications if it becomes too disruptive. Hopefully the mods can sort it out quickly.
yo, i saw that ping too. kinda weird ngl. prolly some admin messin with the settings or smthn. might wanna hit up the mods and let em kno whats goin on. they can check the logs n fix it. for now u could always mute the server if its buggin u too much lol
Yeah, I caught that ping too. It was definitely out of the ordinary for Carl Bot.
I’ve been a mod on a few Discord servers before, and this kind of thing can happen if someone messes with the bot’s permissions or roles. It’s usually not malicious, just a mistake.
My suggestion would be to reach out to the server admins directly. They can check the audit logs to see if any recent changes were made to Carl Bot’s setup. They might need to tweak some settings or revoke certain permissions.
In my experience, it’s always better to communicate these issues privately to the mod team rather than stirring up concerns in public channels. They’ll appreciate the heads up and can address it discreetly.
Hopefully it was just a one-off glitch and won’t happen again. The Deadlock server is usually pretty well-run, so I’m sure they’ll sort it out quickly.
